Kinnikinnick Gluten Free All Purpose Flour Blend

I will start off by saying that I have been cooking and baking gluten free for over 10 years. I have tried ALL the gluten free flour blends and I have tried making the blends recommended in cookbooks, blogs, gluten free websites, etc. For me, making my own flour blend felt like such a chore. I have to buy several different flours and binders and mix them all into a big container to make my own flour and THEN measure from that for each recipe? Then my pantry was full of all of these separate bags of flours and binders and random ingredients and then they would not get used up because I never really loved the results anyway. My pantry was a mess!

Fast forward to when I discovered that my favorite cookie company also makes baking products - I had no idea! The thing about Kinnikinnick is that it can be hard to find in stores. Most of the time you can get the Smoreables graham crackers (my family LOVES them) at health food stores and Walmart even carries the Vanilla Wafer cookies (my non celiac kids are OBSESSED with these!) but as far as the very wide array of other products they carry you are going to need to get them online.

As far as I’m concerned it’s well worth the effort. You get free shipping with a $50 order. The shipment does not come quickly to me - maybe because the company is based in Canada - but I have learned to plan around that and order before I need it. More on my favorite Kinnikinnick products later!

Another thing I love about this product is that their company is gluten, dairy, peanut, tree nut, and soy free as well as free from shellfish, latex, mustard, sesame, and the yucky artificial colors and flavors I am always harassing my kids about. And the best part…. they don’t use oats! This line is truly the only completely allergy-friendly line I have found with my huge allergy load. It has been such a blessing to be able to snack and cook normally again so I will never stop singing their praises.

Ok, back to the flour. As far as I’m concerned, this is the only gluten free flour blend you ever need. I always keep at least a case or two of it in the pantry because you can substitute it for any- and I mean ANY regular recipes and the results are as good or better than the original. We have tested this flour in cookies, muffins, breads, gravies, really more recipes than I can mention and it truly is the perfect 1:1 flour substitute meaning one cup of this is equal to one cup of any regular flour your recipe calls for.

It has been my mission to find gluten and dairy free substitutes for absolutely every recipe and meal that I love and so far I have been successful. If I ever find anything this flour does not substitute well for I will update, however I have been using it exclusively for a year and it has been the BIGGEST relief ever to know I have this perfect substitute on hand at all times. Now instead of scouring the internet for gluten free recipes and trying to decode what a psyllium husk is or whether I can source xanthan gum nearby, I can just browse ANY recipes I want knowing that I can sub this flour out with perfect results any time. I promise to keep sharing all our kitchen successes using this and all of our favorite products that have made blending my gluten free life with my life as a wife and mother seamless!
